Cherrapunji - locally called Sohra - is one of the wettest places on Earth, a plateau of plunging waterfalls, limestone caves and deep green canyons about 54 km (roughly 2 hours) south of Shillong. It is Meghalaya's most popular day trip, and the drive itself along the Shillong–Sohra road is full of viewpoints.
Our full-day tour covers every major spot with a local driver who knows the light and the crowds: pickup from your Shillong hotel around 8 am, all fuel and parking handled, and drop back by evening. Trim or add spots freely - the route is yours.

Cherrapunji Tour - FAQ
Updated August 2026
Is Cherrapunji worth visiting?+
Absolutely - Sohra packs India's tallest plunge waterfall, walk-through limestone caves and canyon viewpoints into one compact plateau, all doable as a day trip from Shillong. Monsoon (June–September) is peak waterfall drama; the drier months trade full falls for clearer views and easier cave visits.
How far is Cherrapunji from Shillong?+
About 54 km - roughly a 2-hour drive each way on the scenic Shillong–Sohra road. As a full-day tour with 7–8 stops, expect 8–9 hours door to door.
When is the best time to visit Cherrapunji?+
June to September (monsoon) is when Nohkalikai and Seven Sisters Falls are at their thundering fullest. October to May brings clearer skies and better canyon views - Nohkalikai flows year-round, though Seven Sisters thins to a trickle from November to March, so we swap in Arwah Cave those months.
Can I combine Cherrapunji with Dawki in one day?+
It makes for a very long day (12+ hours). We usually recommend two separate day trips, or a 2-day Sohra–Dawki circuit with a night's halt in Cherrapunji - the stay is arranged as part of the package.
What should I carry?+
A rain jacket or umbrella (any season), walking shoes for cave and viewpoint steps, and some cash for entry tickets - many counters don't take UPI reliably.
How much does the Cherrapunji tour cost?+
We don't run fixed rate-card prices - the quote depends on your group size, vehicle and season. Send your date and group size on WhatsApp (+91 98637 89990) and you'll have an exact, all-inclusive quote in minutes, with fuel, parking and driver charges included.
