Five days is where a Meghalaya trip stops feeling like a checklist. You get the whole classic circuit - Shillong, the Cherrapunji plateau, Mawlynnong and the Umngot at Dawki - plus a full day in the Jaintia Hills around Jowai, where Krang Suri and Phe Phe Falls sit almost entirely outside the standard tour route.
It also buys you a riverside night at Dawki-Shnongpdeng, which changes the trip. Instead of driving down for a rushed mid-morning boat ride, you wake up at the water and take it in the quiet. One car and one local driver stay with you for all five days; we plan the four night halts - including the riverside night - and recommend places for each, which you book directly.

Meghalaya 5-Day Package - FAQ
Updated August 2026
What does the extra time get me over the 4-day trip?+
A full day in the Jaintia Hills around Jowai - Krang Suri and Phe Phe Falls, which most short circuits never reach - and a genuinely unhurried morning at the Umngot instead of a driven one.
Is Krang Suri worth the detour?+
Yes, if you like swimming. It is a blue plunge pool below a short walk-in, far less crowded than the Sohra falls, and the Jaintia Hills drive itself is quieter than the Cherrapunji road. It needs its own day, which is exactly why the 5-day version exists.
Can we swap Jowai for Mawsynram or Nongriat?+
Yes. Mawsynram works as a half-day from Sohra. The Nongriat double-decker root bridge needs a full day and about 3,000 steps down and back - it is a serious trek, not a walk, so tell us upfront if you want it and we will build the plan around your fitness.
Where do we sleep on night 3?+
By the Umngot at Dawki-Shnongpdeng - a riverside tent with a bonfire, or a village homestay if you would rather have walls. We point you to the trusted camps and you book directly. It is the night guests remember.
Can this start and end at Guwahati airport?+
Yes. Most guests fly into Guwahati (GAU) on day 1 and out on day 5. Book a late departure on the final day - the drive back from Jowai side is about 4 hours plus airport time.
How much does the 5-day package cost?+
No fixed rate card - the quote depends on group size, vehicle, season and stay category. Send your dates and group size on WhatsApp to +91 98637 89990 for an exact, all-inclusive figure the same day.
