Three days is the most common length people actually have, and it works - provided the plan is honest about distance. This circuit covers Shillong's viewpoints, the Cherrapunji waterfall plateau and the clear water at Dawki, and it does not pretend you can add Kaziranga or Mawsynram on top.
One car and one local driver stay with you throughout, with pickup from Guwahati airport or your Shillong hotel. We plan the two night halts and recommend good hotels for each - you book directly. If you can stretch to four days, the 4-day circuit adds a riverside night at Dawki and takes the rush out of day three - but if the weekend is what you have, this is the version that fits it.

Is 3 days enough for Meghalaya?+
It is enough for the headline circuit - Shillong, Cherrapunji and Dawki - if you accept two fairly full driving days. It is not enough to add Kaziranga, Mawsynram or the Nongriat double-decker trek. If you have a fourth day, the 4-day version is genuinely more relaxed.
Can the 3-day trip start from Guwahati?+
Yes, and most do. We pick up at Guwahati airport or railway station on day 1 and drop you back on day 3. Bear in mind the airport run costs you about 3.5 hours at each end, so an early first flight in and a late one out makes the plan much better.
Where do we stay on a 3-day trip?+
Night 1 in Shillong. Night 2 is either Cherrapunji (Sohra) or back in Shillong - Sohra saves you an hour on day 3 and we usually recommend it, but Shillong has more choice of hotels. We suggest trusted places for both nights and you book the ones you like.
What gets cut compared to the 4-day package?+
The riverside camp night at Dawki-Shnongpdeng, and the unhurried morning boating that comes with it. On the 3-day version you drive to Dawki on the final morning instead of waking up beside the river.
What is the best time for a 3-day Meghalaya trip?+
October to April for clear skies and the transparent Umngot water. June to September puts the waterfalls at full power but Dawki boating often pauses, so a monsoon 3-day trip is better spent on Sohra than the river.
